Lakewood's free Earth Walk event is a fun and educational event held each spring at rustic Monte Verde Park, which is the trailhead to over three miles of landscaped walking trails and the San Gabriel River Parkway.
Children and adults will learn what they can do to help keep the earth beautiful and protected as they enjoy a nature walk lead by a knowledgeable guide. They will visit stations along the trail to get their passport stamped with specialty Earth Walk stamps. Completed passports earn participants a special Earth Walk gift.
Other activities include:
"Woody the Tree," Lakewood's Tree City, U.S.A. mascot, will be in attendance. He will help teach visitors about Lakewood's beautiful urban forest.
Activities will move into the park's S. Mark Taper Lodge or under canopies if it rains.
Monte Verde Park is located at 4626 N. Shadeway Rd.
