Lakewood is only seven traffic-free miles from the ocean. Starting at scenic Rynerson Park, it’s a straight shot to the sea for serious cyclists and family-fun riders.
The San Gabriel River Bike Trail takes bikers from the park at Del Amo Boulevard and Studebaker Road past Pacific Coast Highway to Alamitos Bay and Seal Beach.

The river trail winds between the green spaces of Lakewood’s Rynerson and Monte Verde parks and passes the three-mile expanse of El Dorado Regional Park south of Carson Street in Long Beach. Riders will see the concrete sides of the flood control channel shift to rip rap boulders and added natural greenery as the trail sails into the flats below the I405 Freeway.
Read "Bike Paths Los Angeles" for descriptions of the San Gabriel River Bike Trail.
